🌊 Wakeboarding Revival Begins at Milnerton Aquatic Club! 🚤🏄‍♂️

This past weekend, Milnerton Aquatic Club (MAC) officially launched the 2025 wake season with an incredible wakeboarding & wakeskating coaching clinic – and what a way to kick things off! 🙌 With riders as young as 7 years old through to young adults, the energy, enthusiasm, and pure talent on display showed us just how much potential our sport holds.

As Chairperson of Wakeboarding Boat at SAWWF, I want to congratulate MAC on a highly successful event and thank them for stepping up as front-runners in the revival of towed water sports in the Western Cape. This clinic is just the beginning, as MAC leads the way in hosting the Club Champs competition series – the first of its kind since 2014!

A huge thank you must go to all those who made this milestone event possible:
✅ MAC Ground Staff for preparing the waters and grounds so perfectly.
✅ Athi Vena, the Club’s Bosun, for setting the course in the early hours of the morning.
✅ Bar and Kitchen Staff for keeping riders and guests fuelled and happy.
✅ Dirty Habits Playground for supplying top-class coaching staff.
✅ Super Yachting SA for the generous loan of the Super Air Nautique – the boat that pulled every smiling rider.
✅ Most importantly, to the financial sponsors – GT Glass & Aluminium and Scott Weatherproofing – your support made it possible to keep rider fees affordable and ensure more athletes could participate.

This is bigger than one event. This is about rebuilding a sport that was once thriving across South Africa. I now extend an open invitation to every boat club in the province – and across the country – to join us in reigniting wakeboarding, wakeskating. Together, we can build a national network of events, grow participation, and make wake sports accessible to all who dream of riding.

Whether it’s financial support, product prizes, or equipment contributions, your sponsorship will go a long way in reaching riders who would not normally have the chance to experience this sport. 🔥 The wake revival has begun – and thanks to MAC and our incredible partners, the first wave has been set. Now it’s time to build on this momentum. We invite more clubs, more sponsors, and more riders to come on board and help us make wakeboarding great again in South Africa!
